Tracy Ciccone Performing Arts adds NP location
NORTH PROVIDENCE - In September the mother and daughter team of Linda Ciccone and Tracy Ciccone-DiTroia opened Tracy Ciccone Performing Arts studio, located at 1759 Mineral Spring Ave.
Both are Cranston residents and also own and operate studios at 1732 Cranston St., Cranston, as well as at 709 Tiogue Avenue, Coventry. Both women serve as artistic directors and teachers and have a long history in the dance industry; Linda Ciccone opened her first studio in Cranston more than 35 years ago.
One of the two dance floors in the local studio features hardwood flooring. Both studios are brightly decorated and include mirrors and viewing windows and a waiting area. Mother and daughter say they take great pride in operating all of their studios as child- and family-centered businesses. "We have a strictly non-competitive atmosphere at all of our studios and are very family orientated," said Linda Ciccone. "We have no hidden fees nor do we have any dress codes, so students can come dressed as they are," added Linda.
In addition, said Linda Ciccone, "There is no registration fee and we offer a 25 percent discount for a second child and the third child can come for free."
As an opening special, students signing up at the North Providence studio for one month will receive an additional month of instruction at no cost. Dance classes are available for students ages 15 months through adult.
Classes offered include tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, hip hop, acro, Mommy and Me, and vocal performances. Also offered are creative movement, zumba and Dance Your Stress Off classes.
In an effort to reach out to the local community, mother and daughter say they have provided volunteer dance programs at the nearby North Providence Union Free Public Library. Additionally, they offer local schools or organizations an opportunity to raise money with an after-school dance program whereby half of attendance fees are returned to the school or organization. The studio also features birthday parties or the rental of its facility to other dance instructors.
For detailed information on class schedules and fees, call the Mineral Spring Avenue studio at 233-1600 or reach Linda by cell phone at 439-5660. Log onto their Web site at www.tcpa.us .
