DiPippo to celebrate 100th birthday
NORTH PROVIDENCE - Guido DiPippo becomes an official centenarian on Saturday, Nov. 7. Prior to calling Hopkins Manor his home for the past two years, he lived most of his life in the Mount Pleasant section of Providence. DiPippo was married to the late Angela DiPippo and together they raised two children. Sylvia Vallante is a North Providence resident and her brother, Joe DiPippo resides in Florida.
The soon-to-be 100-year-old worked as a construction foreman for Fanning & Doorley Construction Co. prior to his retirement at age 62. During his mid-30s, DiPippo was a noted boxing trainer, according to his daughter.
DiPippo enjoys playing cards and spends much of his time reading detective mysteries. DiPippo has four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
