Libraries of Foster announce November programs
FOSTER - The libraries of Foster - Tyler Free Library, 81A Moosup Valley Road, and Foster Public Library, 184 Howard Hill Road - announce the following programs:
Storytimes at Tyler Free - Join Miss Jayne every Wednesday for two storytime sessions. Babytime is held at 10 a.m. for children, infant to 2¬½, and features songs, rhymes and social time for guardians and the children. At 10:45 a.m., Ms. Jayne will lead 3- to 5-year-olds in rhymes, songs and stories and finish with a craft. Register for these storytimes.
Knitters at Tyler Free - The Wednesday night knitters meet every Wednesday at 6 p.m. Help is always available for new knitters.
Penny Social: Check out items available at the libraries. Bid early and often on items. The Penny Social runs through Wednesday, Dec. 16, with the drawings held on Thursday, Dec. 17. Items are gladly accepted and can be dropped off at either library.
Book Discussion Group at Tyler Free - The book group will meet on Monday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. The book chosen for November is "The Knitting Circle" by Ann Hood. New members are always welcome. Books may be ordered at the libraries.
Make It Personal Gifts at Foster Public - Learn how to make gifts with digital images or printed photographs. Join Mary Jo Chretian on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 6:30 p.m., as she teaches participants how to make cards, posters, books and other personalized items. Participants should bring their camera, memory card or CD with photos to get their project started. Optional purchase can be made with credit or debit card. Class is suitable for ages 12 to adult. Registration is required.
Homework Club at Foster Public - This six-week club which began on Oct. 13 will offer homework help for grades 3-11. The club meets Tuesdays, 3:30-5:30 p.m., and Thursdays, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Registration is required.
Support School Project Web site - Zack Farnum has created a Web site for a school project that community groups can utilize to connect and exchange ideas and activities that are scheduled in the area. For more information or to access the Web site, contact Zack at fosterpost@aol.com.
Lego Club at Tyler Free - The Lego Club will meet on Saturday, Nov. 14, at noon. Children ages 5 and up can build a car, boat, bridge or building. Participants should bring their own Legos. The library has a small supply of Legos for those who do not have them. Separate workspaces will be provided. Registration is required.
Another American Girl doll will be celebrated at Tyler Free on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. Learn about the life and times of Felicity who lived during the American Revolution (1774). Felicity is the second doll in the series, and there is much to learn about her and that period of American History. Registration is required.
November will be a "Food For Fines" month which means that individuals can exchange nonperishable items to benefit the Food Pantry for any overdue fines they may have accumulated. This does not apply to lost or damaged items.
