Blue Star Mothers of R.I. plan fund-raiser, request help

SCITUATE - The Blue Star Mothers of Rhode Island's second annual fund-raising event is planned for Wednesday, Nov. 11. It will be an evening of local flavor and humor with entertainment provided by the Ocean State Follies.

The group is in need of donations in many forms. They are looking for prizes for raffles, gift certificates, merchandise, tickets and monetary donations. They will make every effort to acknowledge your patronage to guests during the event. The group plans to send 500 packages to soldiers currently deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as needed funding for a special program to support individual soldiers to meet short term needs they may have during their actual deployments.
