Gallery night at Hope Library tonight
SCITUATE - Tonight, Thursday, Nov. 5, is Gallery Night at the Hope Library, 374 North Road, Scituate, and local residents Ted and Louise Haley will show their photos of local and national places of interest, said director, Paula DiBiase.
The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. and the photographers will be available afterward for questions. The exhibit will remain on display through Nov. 30 during library hours.
For children in grades 1 through 4, a Read to a Dog program will begin this week, continuing on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. through Dec. 15.
According to children's librarian Donna O'Connor, the program is designed to help children who have difficulty reading, or are just learning to read. Pet therapy team Marci Obringer and her dog, Miss Lilly, of Hope, will conduct the program and reading slots, though limited, are still open.
To register, call the library at 821-7910. Also this month, a young adult games program and family games for children and their parents has been scheduled Nov. 14 to celebrate National Gaming Day. The children's program is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the young adults program is from 1 to 3 p.m.
The library is open Monday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 1 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Nov. 7.
